The Deets:
Whether you top them with avocado, eggs, bananas and honey, goat cheese, or salmon, GG Crackers are a healthier alternative to bread, with each crisp containing four grams of fiber and 20 calories.
Gunder Gundersen, the cracker’s namesake, created the recipe for the ingenious “crispbreads” in 1935 in his native Norway, according to the company’s website.
The crackers are still made in Norway and now include additional flavors, such as oat bran, sunflower seed, raisin and honey, multi seed, gluten free, and pumpkin seed.
Be forewarned: They’re very crunchy and the flavor does take some getting used to, with newbies describing it as tasting akin to cardboard. Slather it with toppings to get accustomed to the flavor and visit GG Cracker’s website for recipe inspiration.
