Flatwoods Monster

Legend:
On a summer evening in 1952, a UFO landed on a hilltop near this West Virginia town. When a group went to explore the site, they were confronted by a 10-foot tall creature with green skin, bulging eyes, and a glowing face shaped like an Ace of Spades. The creature began to hiss and levitated toward the spectators, emitting a noxious mist that made them sick as they fled.

The town of Flatwoods
There are several Flatwoods Monster-shaped chairs scattered throughout the town, including one near the town hall. You can find out where each one is located here. The Spot, a local ice cream shop, offers a face-in-the-hole photo op of the Flatwoods Monster, and Bear Heaven, a gift shop at the entrance to the Flatwoods Factory Outlets, sells replica figurines of the Monster.
Sutton, West Virginia
This free admission museum displays one-of-a kind artifacts dedicated to the Flatwoods Monster. It also has a gift shop where you can purchase monster memorabilia.
