Frog People
Origins:
Loveland, Ohio
Legend:
Since the 1950s, there have been multiple sightings of 3- to 4-foot-tall frog-like humanoids running around the woods of this Ohio town. Called Frog People, some of the reports mention their distinct smell of almonds, while others note that they carry wands that shoot sparks. They’re also said to have impressive leaping abilities. The last sighting of an Ohio Frog Person was reported in 2016 by a couple that was outside playing Pokemon Go.
Visit:
Loveland, Ohio
Loveland Castle is located right along the banks of the Little Miami River, which is said to be the Frog People’s prime stomping grounds. Although Loveland doesn’t officially acknowledge them, it is rumored that the castle was built as a defense mechanism against Ohio’s Frog People, even though they are presumed to be benign. The castle is a rich attraction on its own, and the grounds are open to visitors for a $5 admission fee.
